A time has come in which humanity and the planet can no longer endure remaining in ignorance and suffering. The energy of the present epoch ensures that self-consciousness is left behind and universal consciousness is realised. Remaining trapped in the prison of thought and the past will become ever more painful as the contrast with the powerfully present consciousness grows. To recognise consciousness as your true self is essential. Both the approach of a student and the role of a teacher are of a different order in the new epoch.
In the present time, the Guru has become human once more, and with this, the friend of humanity (Maitreya). Reverence, worship and fear of a charismatic teacher is absolutely dysfunctional. As long as we admire the master outside ourselves, we deny the awakened consciousness as our Self. The Guru is our friend, but a dangerous friend nonetheless. Everything is aimed at destroying your arrogant, narrow-minded and stubborn ego, so you might see your original face. It destroys the student identity and other forms of vanity and dependence, in order to reveal itself in complete dignity.
The greatest fear of the old and weary human is not so much their suffering. They have grown accustomed to that for so long. Who would they be without it? The greatest fear encompasses the resolution of this and the manifestation of an unprecedented love and expansion of the heart.
Here we are no longer someone but are everything and nothing simultaneously. Here we are neither doer nor non-doer, but the vessel of self-consciousness is broken and we have awakened from the dream. Now we are responsible and free, and we have finally come of age.
The separated self-consciousness experiences the void initially as death. Only after this “death” is it experienced as complete and whole. Fear and doubt dissolve with the dissolution of self-consciousness, and a loving radiance takes hold. This luminous principle proves to be the powerful source that flows ceaselessly and unconditionally from the unveiled essence. It is not merely the verbal instructions that lead to insight and transformation, but precisely this radiant presence that dissolves the separated identity. The (verbal) teaching is always subordinate to the presence and spontaneous love with which the void has been filled.
This fulfilment is our human potential and our human responsibility. We can awaken from our sleep. We can leave our mental and emotional captivity and realise the unity of being. We can rise from the dead and truly Live. As long as knowledge and understanding of our true nature have not resulted in complete surrender to the All (or God), there is of course no Nirvana (extinction) and Buddhahood, Christ consciousness or Enlightenment. Such knowledge is often an obstacle to actual transformation because it gives the idea of realisation. Realisation is not an idea, but a spontaneously lived truth. Everything is permeated by this without your being able to appropriate it.
