1. Definitions

In these general terms and conditions, the following definitions apply:
  • Naropa Parivartan: the business responsible for the sale of products, tickets, retreats and online programmes via the website.
  • Participant/Customer: any natural or legal person who enters into an agreement with Naropa.
  • Programme: all offered individual sessions, retreats, events, journeys, festivals and online programmes.
  • Agreement: any purchase, booking or registration via the website or via direct agreement.

2. Applicability

2.1 These general terms and conditions apply to all offers, bookings, agreements, deliveries and services of Naropa Parivartan.

2.2 By placing an order, registration or booking, the customer declares to agree with these terms and conditions.

2.3 Deviations from these terms and conditions are only valid if agreed in writing.

3. Offer and Formation of the Agreement

3.1 All offers on the website are without obligation and may be adjusted at any time.

3.2 An agreement is formed as soon as:

  • an order or booking via the website has been confirmed; and
  • payment (in full or in part) has been received.

3.3 Naropa Parivartan reserves the right to refuse a registration or order without giving reasons.

4. Prices, Payment, Delivery and Performance

4.1 All prices are stated in euros and include VAT, unless otherwise indicated.

4.2 Payment must be made via the payment methods offered on the website.

4.3 For retreats or programmes, Naropa Parivartan may work with deposits and payment plans.

4.4 If a payment is not made on time, Naropa reserves the right to:

  • refuse participation;
  • block access to online programmes;
  • cancel the agreement.

4.5 Any collection costs and administrative costs in the event of non-payment are for the customer’s account.

4.6 Naropa Parivartan offers various secure payment methods via the website, which may include:

  • iDEAL
  • Credit card
  • PayPal
  • Bank transfer
  • other payment methods as offered during checkout.
Payment must be made via the payment method selected during the ordering process.

4.7 After a successful order, booking or registration, the customer will receive a confirmation of the purchase or reservation by email. This confirmation serves as proof of the agreement between the customer and Naropa Parivartan. If the customer does not receive a confirmation, the customer should contact us via the contact details on the website.

4.8 Depending on the type of product or service, tickets, digital products or access to programmes will be delivered via email or via an online account environment.

This may include, among other things:
  • e-tickets for events or retreats;
  • Zoom links or online access information;
  • access to online environments;
  • downloads of digital files;
  • confirmations with practical information.
Digital delivery generally takes place immediately after receipt of payment, unless otherwise stated on the website or during the ordering process.

4.9 Naropa Parivartan is not responsible for delays caused by incorrectly provided email addresses, spam filters, technical malfunctions or circumstances beyond its control.

4.10 Naropa Parivartan will carry out programmes, retreats and online services to the best of its knowledge and ability.

4.11 Dates, times, locations, facilitators or content of programmes may be changed if necessary. In the event of material changes, the participant will be informed as soon as possible.

5. Tickets, Events and Retreats

5.1 Tickets and reservations are personal and non-refundable, unless otherwise stated.

5.2 Naropa Parivartan reserves the right to change, postpone or cancel a programme, retreat or event in the event of:

  • force majeure;
  • insufficient participants;
  • illness of facilitators;
  • unforeseen circumstances.

5.3 In the event of cancellation by Naropa Parivartan:

  • an alternative will be offered; or
  • the amount paid will be refunded, excluding any external costs already incurred, if stated.

5.4 Naropa Parivartan is not liable for additional costs incurred by participants, such as travel or accommodation costs.

6. Cancellation by Participant

For events and programmes (physical & online)

6.1 No refund applies in the event of cancellation of a satsang or one-day event.

6.2 The participant may transfer his/her place to another person, or, with written approval from Naropa Parivartan, to another day.

For physical retreats and journeys

6.4 Cancellation must be made in writing by email.

6.5 The following conditions apply in the event of cancellation:

  • up to 30 days before the start: €100 will be deducted from the refund;
  • between 30 and 10 days before the start: 50% refund;
  • within 10 days: no refund.
For online retreats

6.6 The following conditions apply in the event of cancellation:

  • up to 30 days before the start: €100 will be deducted from the refund;
  • between 30 and 10 days before the start: 50% refund;
  • within 10 days: no refund.

6.7 The participant may transfer his/her place to another person, or, with written approval from Naropa Parivartan, to another programme.

7. Webshop and Products

7.1 Naropa Parivartan strives for an accurate representation of products and services on the website.

7.2 Delivery times are indicative and do not give rise to any right to compensation.

7.3 Physical products may be returned within the statutory period if unused and in their original condition, unless they concern:

  • personalised products;
  • digital products;
  • sealed products that have been opened.

7.4 Return costs are for the customer’s account unless otherwise agreed.

8. Participation and Own Responsibility

8.1 Participation in all programmes, retreats and online events takes place entirely at the participant’s own risk and responsibility.

8.2 The participant remains personally responsible for his/her physical, mental and emotional health.

8.3 Naropa Parivartan does not offer medical or therapeutic treatment.

8.4 The participant declares to truthfully share relevant medical or psychological information if this is important for safe participation.

8.5 We recommend consulting in advance when participating in a multi-day programme in the case of:

  • serious psychological complaints, such as susceptibility to psychosis and severe depression;
  • epilepsy;
  • addiction;
  • use of heavy medication or substances that affect consciousness.

8.6 Naropa Parivartan reserves the right to refuse or discontinue participation when this is deemed necessary for the safety or wellbeing of the participant or the group. In this case, the participant will not receive a refund.

8.7 By participating in a programme, retreat or online event, the participant declares to agree with this disclaimer and the general terms and conditions of Naropa Parivartan.

9. Liability

9.1 Naropa Parivartan is only liable for direct damage that is the direct result of proven intent or gross negligence.

9.2 Naropa is not liable for:

  • indirect damage;
  • consequential damage;
  • loss of income;
  • personal property;
  • physical or psychological complaints arising during or after participation.

9.3 Naropa’s liability is in all cases limited to the amount paid by the customer for the relevant programme or product.

10. Force Majeure

10.1 Force majeure is understood to mean any circumstance beyond the reasonable control of Naropa Parivartan, including:

  • natural disasters;
  • pandemics;
  • government measures;
  • strikes;
  • illness;
  • war;
  • technical malfunctions;
  • travel restrictions.

10.2 In the event of force majeure, Naropa Parivartan has the right to postpone, change or cancel the programme without liability for damages.

11. Recordings, Intellectual Property and Use of Visual Material

11.1 All content, materials, videos, meditations, texts and downloads remain the property of Naropa unless otherwise indicated.

11.2 It is not permitted to copy, distribute or commercially use material without written permission.

11.3 During online or physical events, photo, video or audio recordings may be made for educational, promotional or community purposes. By participating, the participant gives permission for the possible use of general atmosphere footage, unless written objection is made in advance.

11.4 Participants are not permitted to independently record or distribute sessions, Zoom calls, meditations, satsangs or group conversations without written permission from Naropa Parivartan.

12. Privacy

12.1 Naropa Parivartan processes personal data in accordance with applicable privacy legislation and the privacy statement on the website.

12.2 Data is used exclusively for service provision, communication and administration.

13. Complaints

13.1 Complaints must be reported in writing immediately or within 14 days of the complaint arising.

13.2 Naropa Parivartan will make an effort to handle complaints within a reasonable period.

14. Applicable Law

14.1 The law of the country in which Naropa Parivartan is statutorily established applies to all agreements.

14.2 Disputes will be submitted to the competent court of that place of establishment.
